About
An industry-leading property group is seeking a skilled Legal Counsel to join their in-house legal team, where you’ll play a key role in supporting our diverse portfolio of residential, commercial, retail, and hospitality projects with an emphasis on managing disputes, residential construction and overseeing insurance.
Key Responsibilities
- Overseeing legal aspects of disputes including Supreme Court proceedings and regulatory matters.
- Providing strategic direction in relation to the Home Building Act, Residential Apartment Buildings Act and Design and Building Practitioner’s Act.
- Working with various stakeholders, including brokers, Group Head Office and the local business on all insurance matters including renewal.
- Navigating legal risk with confidence across regulatory, compliance, and dispute-related matters
- Working closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure the success of our projects.
Profile
- 8+ years’ post-qualification experience in litigation, residential construction or property development, ideally gained in a top-tier firm or in-house
- A strong commercial mindset and the ability to provide practical, risk-aware legal advice to drive business decisions.
- Strong drafting and negotiation skills, with a keen eye for quality and efficiency
- A collaborative, professional approach with the ability to build relationships across legal and business teams
