Job Title: Systems Engineer

Reporting to the Manager, Technical Services, the role of the Systems Engineer is to work within the Technical Services team on technical projects, advanced technical implementations, upgrades and maintenance, and providing 3rd level technical support for on-premise and cloud infrastructure, software and applications.

The role is responsible for designing, building, upgrading and administering systems within the IT environment in accordance with best practice standards and methodologies to maximise availability and performance for our staff and clients. The role requires effective communication both with internal stakeholders and with vendors to ensure successful outcomes in the best interests of the company. The role requires an in-depth and contemporary understanding of a wide range of technologies and will involve researching and recommending appropriate technologies and methods to resolve business problems and accomplish objectives

Requirements:

In depth understanding of key core IT technologies including, but not limited to:

• Virtualization: VMware, HyperV and Nutanix
• Enterprise Hardware: Nutanix, Mellanox, Cisco, Alcatel, IBM iSeries
• Cloud: Azure, AWS, Genesys, Office 365, PowerBI, Technology One, Urbanise, Alfresco, Stratavote, Bing, Survey Dynamix
• Security: Endpoint Detection and Response, Firewalls, Email, Secure Web Gateway, Cloud Access Security Broker, Certificates, Public and Private Keys and associated protocols
• Operating Systems: Windows 7, 8, 10, Server 2008, 2012, 2016, 2019, Linux.
• Databases including Microsoft SQL, PostgreSQL, Amazon Aurora 
• Secure data exchange between disparate applications and systems including via APIs, SFTP
• End User Computing: Windows 10 based devices including deployment of devices utilising SCCM and Autopilot 
• Mobility: iPhones, iPads, Surfaces.

Education:

• Degree in Information Technology, computer science or equivalent.
• Extensive understanding of cloud and on-premise technologies, operating systems, virtualisation, networks and databases.
• Understanding of IT policies, procedures and methodologies.
• Proficient in use of Microsoft Office suite.

Desirable Experience:

•  Active Directory, ADFS, Group Policy, DHCP, DNS, Domain Controllers, DFS, SCCM, SQL Server.
•  Cloud experience with Azure, AWS (certifications beneficial) and O365.
•  VMware vSphere ESX and ESXi (VCP certification beneficial) ? Nutanix (or equivalent) HyperConverged Infrastructure..
•  Alfresco or similar enterprise document management systems
• Linux / Redhat Certification.
• Mobility devices and platforms: iPhone, iPad, Android, Microsoft InTune
• PDQ Deploy and PDQ Inventory.
• Windows Server and Windows 10 including deployment technologies (SCCM and Autopilot)
• IBM iSeries operations.
• IBM WebSphere Application and Portal servers.
