A leading global organisation is currently seeking an experienced corporate/M&A lawyer to join their high performing legal team in Sydney. This opportunity will report into the General Counsel and will involve providing transaction support to the business. You will play a key role in engaging and managing external counsel and advising on M&A matters (including corporate strategy, regulatory compliance, governance and risk) as well as general corporate advisory.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing transactional support for major corporate initiatives undertaken by the business
- Large-scale mergers and acquisitions and corporate restructuring transactions
- A mix of private equity, venture capital, corporate restructuring and capital raisings
- Advising the business and senior executives on a range of legal and regulatory issues and proactively managing legal risk
- Supporting the business with legal services including contract review, document preparation and transaction management
- Assisting the General Counsel on various project based assignments and initiatives
Key Requirements:
- Ideally a minimum of 8 years PQE working for a top tier law firm or in-house organisation
- Strong corporate M&A transactional experience
- Extensive knowledge of corporate governance, contract law, regulatory compliance, and risk management
- Strong project and transaction management experience
- Excellent negotiation, drafting, and communication skills
- Pro-active and positive attitude and ability to thrive in a fast paced growth orientated environment
