Senior Corporate Counsel – Commercial Litigation/Regulatory

About
Our client is seeking an experienced commercial litigation lawyer to join their legal team in Sydney, Australia. This is a newly created role and will involve assisting on advising all businesses in the Group on litigation, regulatory, regulatory enforcement and competition.

Key Responsibilities

Providing high-quality legal advice on regulatory matters
Managing litigation and disputes
Supporting the Regulatory and Corporate Affairs team with regulatory advocacy, compliance, enforcement, and remediation
Assisting with managing regulatory investigations and enforcement matters
Providing legal advice in relation to compliance, privacy, competition and consumer law issues
Briefing and managing external lawyers
Supporting the general counsel on general matters as required

Profile

Ideally 6+years PQE
Strong litigation and disputes experience
Previous experience running complex legal matters with a regulatory or litigation focus
Knowledge of Competition and Consumer Act and Privacy Act
Ability to work in fast-moving environments with diverse stakeholders
Excellent commercial and influencing skills
