Description
This newly created leadership role is responsible for establishing and leading the Payroll Governance & Transformation function. The role provides strategic oversight of payroll governance frameworks while driving the execution of a multi-stream transformation programme.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the SAP Payroll Transformation Programme, ensuring initiatives progress through structured stage-gated delivery from concept to implementation.
- Establishing and maintaining robust payroll governance frameworks including risk and control structures, documentation standards, and knowledge management.
- Driving the adoption of analytics, automation, and digital solutions to improve payroll governance and operational performance.
- Overseeing programme reporting, tracking progress across workstreams, and ensuring benefits realisation aligned to key payroll KPIs and employee experience outcomes.
- Partnering with stakeholders across payroll operations, people & culture, finance, and technology to support strategic initiatives and governance improvements.
- Coaching and supporting initiative owners and cross-functional teams to successfully deliver transformation outcomes.
Profile
The ideal candidate will be a transformation leader with deep experience in payroll, governance, or complex operational environments.
Key requirements include:
- Extensive experience leading large-scale SAP Payroll transformation programmes or strategic projects in complex corporate environments.
- Strong understanding of governance frameworks, risk management, and operational controls.
- Demonstrated ability to influence and communicate effectively with senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
- Advanced programme and change management capability across multi-stream initiatives.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to leverage data to drive improvements and compliance outcomes.
- Knowledge of Australian payroll legislation including payroll tax, superannuation, leave entitlements, and enterprise agreements is highly regarded.
- Experience working with technology, systems, or digital transformation initiatives is advantageous.
