Business Development Manager – Capital Equipment (QLD) Food, Beverage & Packaging Solutions

A well established national supplier of food processing and packaging equipment is seeking a driven Business Development Manager to take ownership of Queensland.
This is a replacement role for a long standing incumbent who is retiring. While there is an existing customer base, the Queensland market has become more competitive and fragmented  creating a genuine opportunity for a commercially minded BDM to rebuild, expand and grow the territory.

The focus in Queensland is no longer dairy, but instead expanding into food, beverage, condiments, oils and value added food manufacturing, where there is significant untapped potential.
This is a Brisbane based, field focused role, working closely with customers across the state.

The Opportunity You will be responsible for driving equipment sales across Queensland and potentially WA, managing existing customers while actively developing new business in growth sectors including:
  • Food processing
  • Beverage & liquid food
  • Condiments & sauces
  • Oils & value-added food manufacturing
  • Packaging and processing applications
Customers in this market are technically savvy, so you will be selling at a consultative, solution led level working with engineers, production managers and business owners.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Taking over and nurturing an existing customer base while aggressively building new business
  • Identifying new market opportunities across food and beverage manufacturing
  • Conducting site visits, needs analysis and solution presentations
  • Selling capital equipment that improves efficiency, quality and output
  • Developing a strong sales pipeline through proactive prospecting
  • Working to monthly sales, activity and revenue targets
  • Using CRM to track opportunities and forecast sales
  • Attending industry events and building your market presence
  • Feeding back market intelligence to leadership
What We’re Looking For This role will suit a technical BDM who thrives in a growth focused, territory build environment.

You will bring:
  • 4+ years’ experience selling capital equipment or packaging solutions
  • Strong background in food processing, packaging, beverage or industrial manufacturing
  • The ability to engage confidently with engineers, operations and production teams
  • A proven record of winning new business
  • A self-driven, proactive and resilient sales approach
You’ll also have:
  • A clean driver’s licence and enjoy being on the road
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
  • CRM experience (Salesforce or similar)
  • A professional and consultative selling style
