• Hands on outbound Transport leadership role (progression route to national level, transport focused)
• Established national reputation in last mile home deliveries, planned further investment
• Schofields based role; manage the transport contract for a major retailer
Client Details
The business has a long standing reputation in final mile deliveries for some of Australia’s largest white goods, furniture, electronics and grocery retailers. Ahead of further investment and growth the business is looking for a Contract Operations Manager (transport focused) to lead outbound operations for one of their large clients.
Description
Reporting into the Group Operations Manager you will be responsible for effectively managing the performance of a high value third party logistics contract. You will manage the outbound transport team on site of 50 Drivers. Through your team of 3 Team Leaders you will ensure the Transport and fulfilment teams are motivated, working safely and delivering exceptional experience for customers. Ensuring your team is trained and developed to enable their success you will be responsible for collaborating with Transport Allocators and retailers points of contact to ensure OTIF delivery, fully owning outbound delivery and performance. You will be hands on in training and development of operators and drivers and be challenged to find value added opportunities around waste reduction, people development and process improvement whilst ensuring world class safety in operations.
Profile
You have a detailed understanding of what is required when leading teams within transport (drivers) and ideally also warehousing (operators). You are a hands on leader with demonstrable experience at management level within either third party logistics or in house within a retail businesses transport team. Ideally you will hold relevant qualifications within logistics but above all you have a track record of leading delivery teams to deliver on time in full with a passion for operations and value added activities.
