Senior Payroll Officer
This part-time, standalone Senior Payroll Officer position manages full-cycle payroll for 250 employees across weekly, fortnightly, and monthly cycles using MitreFinch T&A system, during a 6-month FTC

Role Overview
Hybrid role (2 office days, 1 WFH; Mon-Wed) in a small finance team.
Payroll Management & Compliance
- Prepare, process, and reconcile payroll in accordance with set schedules.
- Ensure compliance with legislative standards, including superannuation and payroll tax obligations.
- Maintain accurate employee records, including new commencements and terminations.
- Generate payroll reporting to meet internal, statutory, and audit obligations.
- Interpret awards, industrial agreements, and contracts to ensure correct application of pay and entitlements.
- Coordinate end-of-month and end-of-year payroll activities in partnership with Finance.
- Remain current with payroll legislation, enterprise agreements, and procedural updates.
- Develop and maintain payroll and HR systems, ensuring data accuracy and process integrity.
- Support and optimise HR system functionality (e.g. ADP Payforce, Workday, Mitrefinch).
- Troubleshoot and assist employees with access, setup, and functionality queries.
- Uphold internal control procedures for payroll and HR systems.
- Proven end-to-end payroll processing experience within a medium to large organisation.
- Familiarity with major payroll and HRIS platforms (e.g. ADP, Workday, Chris21, Mitrefinch).
- Strong understanding of payroll legislation, superannuation, and taxation requirements.
- High level of accuracy, confidentiality, and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
