Client Details

One of Australia’s leading academic institutions, is seeking an experienced lawyer to join their legal team. As part of this role, you would be involved in the provision of high-quality legal advice to the university regarding its construction and projects endeavours. As Senior Legal Counsel, you would be reporting to the Head of Commercial & Real Estate.


Description 

 
Responsibilities may include:

• Negotiating, drafting, and advising on construction documentation
• Some advisory on property, planning, environment, and general commercial law matters
• Advising on accountabilities and compliance requirements, including disputes and contracts matters
• Liaise with external legal services

Profile

Key Qualifications:

• Strong experience working in construction and projects law
• Ideally, some exposure to property, planning and environment law
• Demonstrated experience drafting, advising on and reviewing commercial agreements
• An understanding and commitment to the university’s aims, objectives, and values
• Strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and orally
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
