Description


As a Senior Data Engineer, you will play a key role in designing and delivering scalable data and API solutions. You will:

  • Develop secure, high-performing REST APIs
  • Design and optimise ETL pipelines for large-scale data processing
  • Implement workflow orchestration and job scheduling (e.g., Rundeck, AWS Step Functions)
  • Build cloud-native solutions leveraging AWS services such as Glue, Lambda, S3, RDS, IAM, SQS, EventBridge, and CloudWatch
  • Containerise applications and data workloads using Docker
  • Ensure governance, security, structured logging, and auditability standards are met
  • Troubleshoot, test, and enhance performance across systems
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver milestones on time


Profile
  • Proven experience working within software development projects
  • Strong hands-on expertise in ETL development and orchestration tools
  • Experience with tools such as Pentaho or Apache Hop
  • Solid API development skills
  • Advanced SQL knowledge and experience with Oracle or PostgreSQL
  • Practical experience with AWS cloud services
  • Hands-on Docker experience
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Exposure to CI/CD pipelines
  • Understanding of Agile/Scrum delivery environments
  • Experience with performance and load testing
  • Knowledge of microservices and distributed systems
  • Familiarity with high-volume transaction environments
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform
