About the Role

The Payroll Data and Analytics Specialist helps ensure payroll is accurate, compliant, and efficient. This role focuses on analysing payroll data, creating reports, and improving systems and processes to reduce errors and risks. It also plays a key part in payroll remediation projects and supports the continuous improvement of payroll operations.
You will work closely with teams across Human Resources, Finance, IT, and external partners to deliver reliable payroll information and ensure compliance with Australian legislation and enterprise agreements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect, validate, and analyse payroll data to identify errors or compliance issues.
  • Develop and maintain accurate payroll reports, dashboards, and insights.
  • Support payroll audits, compliance reviews, and remediation projects.
  • Collaborate with IT and system vendors to improve payroll data systems and reporting tools.
  • Ensure all payments and reporting meet legal, tax, and superannuation requirements.
  • Identify risks in payroll data and processes, and recommend practical solutions.
  • Communicate findings and insights clearly to leaders and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Contribute to training and knowledge sharing within the payroll team.
Key Skills and Experience
  • Strong experience analysing and validating large and complex payroll data sets.
  • Sound understanding of Australian payroll, taxation, and employment regulations.
  • Familiarity with payroll systems such as SAP, SuccessFactors, or other enterprise platforms.
  • Experience with data analytics and reporting tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, or similar).
  • Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines in a changing environment.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills with technical and non-technical teams.
  • Problem-solving mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
