Job description

  • Location: Macquarie Park, Sydney (4 days in office, 1 - day WFH)
  • Reports To: Executive Director
  • Vibe: Fantastic culture
Client:
Our client, a leading provider of critical and innovative services, is undergoing a significant and exciting period of transformation. They are pivoting from a sales-driven to a service-led focus, reinventing what leadership needs to look like, and lifting performance across the board.

This isn't a "well-oiled machine" environment; it's a dynamic, fast-paced landscape where you can truly build something meaningful. A large, complex corporate (7,000+ employees), our client attracts the best talent who are passionate about making a difference.

If you're a purpose-driven OD professional looking for a career-defining opportunity to shape an evolving culture, this is your chance.

Opportunity:
We are seeking highly motivated and practical Organisational Development Leads. These are individual contributor roles, partnering with a specific part of the business – Technology & Networks; Chief Operating Officer (COO), Consumer & Enterprise; or Corporate Functions (including Risk, Compliance, Legal, Corporate Affairs, and People & Culture).

You will be the "face" of the OD function within your assigned portfolio, acting as a crucial integrator and amplifier of the work stemming from Learning & Capability, Leadership & Talent, and Inclusive Employee Experience Centres of Excellence (COEs).

This is not about theoretical models; it's about translating strategic intent into tangible, data-led, and sustainable change that genuinely impacts our people and business outcomes.

Your role will be focused on three critical areas:

End-to-End OD Program Scoping & Design:
  • Collaborate deeply with business leaders to identify core challenges, performance gaps, and strategic needs, moving beyond simple training requests.
  • Lead a data-led approach to problem-solving, challenging instinctive decision-making with evidence and insights.
  • Design comprehensive, end-to-end OD programs that align with the organisation's strategic goals and lift both performance and culture
Building Embedded & Sustainable Change:
  • Demonstrate a proven track record of creating change initiatives that are truly embedded and sustained within day-to-day practices, not just launched or "ticked off."
  • Focus on how work becomes part of the organisational DNA, ensuring long-term impact rather than short-term project completion.
  • Go beyond project plans and slide decks to foster genuine organisational development.
 Effective Stakeholder Management & Influence:
  • Navigate a diverse stakeholder landscape, influencing both new executives eager for rapid change and long-tenured employees who may question the need for new approaches.
  • Build strong relationships and bring people on the journey with you, fostering collaboration and buy-in.
  • Work closely with our Business Partners, ensuring integrated solutions and a unified approach to the business.
As an OD Lead, you will also:
  • Act as an amplifier and integrator of work from our COEs, providing invaluable feedback to continually refine our offerings.
  • Connect the dots between various internal initiatives (e.g., process excellence, ways of working) to ensure an integrated experience for our people.
  • Bring the voice of our people to the forefront, balancing data-driven recommendations with empathetic listening.
  • Contribute to shaping the mindset, strengths, and drivers needed as the organisation transitions from a sales to a service culture.
Skills & Qualifications:
  • Significant experience in Organisational Development roles within large, complex corporate environments (e.g., 7,000+ employees).
  • Proven experience in a regulated industry (e.g., financial services, telecommunications) is highly desirable, demonstrating an understanding of rigor and oversight.
  • Demonstrable experience working in a fast-paced environment with a new or evolving executive team.
  • Experience within an organisation with a standalone OD capability.
  • Prior exposure to retail or customer-facing operations will be highly valued, particularly for the Consumer & Enterprise portfolio.
Technical Skills:
  • Strong capabilities in data analysis and using data to inform OD strategies and recommendations.
  • Deep understanding of OD methodologies and frameworks, with the ability to translate them into practical, context-specific solutions rather than theoretical jargon.
  • Exceptional written communication skills, capable of producing high-quality, impactful documents (equivalent to board-level papers).
  • Proficiency in designing and implementing end-to-end OD programs, including scoping, needs analysis, design, delivery, and evaluation.
Soft Skills:
  • Exceptional influencing and persuasion skills, capable of navigating complex stakeholder dynamics.
  • Highly collaborative and adept at building strong relationships across all levels of an organisation.
  • Practical, hands-on, and results-oriented approach to OD.
  • Ability to listen actively, understand diverse perspectives, and effectively articulate solutions.
  • Resilience and adaptability to thrive in a high-energy, change-driven environment.
  • A 'good human' with high integrity and strong relational skills.
Offer:
  • A truly impactful role at a pivotal moment in our organisation's history.
  • The opportunity to build and shape OD practices, rather than simply maintaining existing ones.
  • Work alongside "awesome humans" in a collaborative and supportive environment.
  • Competitive remuneration package, including base salary, superannuation, and an attractive bonus component.
  • Modern, vibrant office facilities at our company headquarters, easily accessible via public transport (4 days in office is a core requirement).
If you are a practical, data-driven, and influential OD professional ready to make a significant difference in a transforming organisation, we encourage you to apply.
