Description 

To have end to end responsibility for our clients databases and servers.  This includes the maintenance and operation of the systems.


Profile

• Work with vendors to implement and run systems that monitor the correct running of the companies servers.
• Work with vendors to manage the patching and currency of the company servers.
• Troubleshoot any issues that occur on servers.
• Manage infrastructure vendors as per the service contracts. This includes confirming the delivery of service, such as backups, asset maintenance, monitoring, problem solving.
• Manage security compliance of servers.
• Ability to use code such as PowerShell and Python to manage systems.
• Work with group vendors to implement and run systems that monitor the correct running of the companies in house databases.
• Manage database performance.
• Work with the teams to design and implement changes to databases that meet the needs of the company.
• Manage the data connectors between systems such as Microsoft data gateways.
• Understand and use slq.
• Demonstrating quality workplace practices consistent with quality policies and procedures.
• Planning and implementing changes seamless within the company.
• Managing key stakeholders as part of a change management plan.
• Reporting on changes.
• Producing operational reports.

Requirements:

The person we are seeking is a bright, energetic self-starter capable of working with minimal supervision. You must demonstrate the ability to adapt quickly and professionally to new and evolving situations while showcasing your initiative, prioritisation, and multitasking skills in a fast-paced setting.

• Tertiary qualification in Information Technology highly regarded
• Data and information systems qualifications highly regarded
• 5+ experience in managing operating systems such as Linux and Microsoft Server. This includes deploying, patching, upgrading, monitoring, troubleshooting issues.
• 2+ years using mysql databases. This includes deploying, monitoring, upgrading.
• 2+ years using servers deployed in AWS or virtual servers.
