Job Title: Insights & Research Manager


Job Title: 12 month fixed-term contract (with a view to make it permanent since the business and this specific division is growing)

Job location: Sydney, NSW (however open to candidates from all Australian states)

The Insights Data & Analytics team provides internal capabilities across Research, Data Visualisation and Data Analysis.

The Insights & Research Manager will be a strong proactive contributor to the strategy, capability and delivery of Research & Insight programs of work required by business stakeholders to make better business decisions, achieve their AOP targets and explore incremental growth opportunities. This person will be a subject matter expert in all research related to business and be responsible for end-to-end delivery of research projects.

The effective interpretation of business trends, customer behaviors and market dynamics are critical to the success of the company. To make these recommendations, the Insights & Research manager must be highly skilled in variety of research techniques, including qualitative and quantitative studies, and take ownership in delivering projects across concept testing, brand tracking, NPS, etc. The candidate must be able to work with a wide range of stakeholders through the end-to-end research process from requirements gathering to problem articulation and delivering recommendations back to the business.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing expertise and consulting in research methodology, as well as delivery of research design, data collection, data analysis and the interpretation, presentation and evaluation of results

  • Identifying and fostering partnerships with key stakeholders across business to understand and proactively anticipate strategic and ad-hoc research needs and requirements

  • Leading the strategy for programmatic research and customer base research at business, providing clear direction and ongoing management of vendors and internal stakeholders to ensure a robust framework is developed in line with client’s requirements

  • Taking ownership of end-to-end research process from requirements gathering to problem articulation and delivering recommendations back to the business.

  • Leading agency/vendor relationships for research projects, data collection and reporting requirements and outputs where relevant.

  • Identifying, understanding and developing appropriate reporting frameworks to socialise key market, customer and competitor insights, trends and opportunities facing the client organisation

  • Manage business research contract and budget by coordinating an internal pipeline of research roadmap in accordance with stakeholder and organisation requirements

  • Taking ownership of the quality of research project deliverables, managing the quality assurance of outputs produced in-house or though agency and vendor partners in accordance with project timelines

  • Delivering on operational excellence through clear documentation of research projects and their associated processes and procedures



About You:

  • Experience in qualitative and quantitative research, with a capability to run your own focus groups and in-depth interviews

  • Experience in Qualtrics and Medallia is preferred

  • Experience in both client side and agency is desirable

  • Demonstrated experience in designing and conducting research projects and developing research or vendor briefs

  • Demonstrated experience leading agency / vendor relationships for research projects, data collection and reporting requirements and outputs

  • Ability to work within and understand complex matrixed environments, managing multiple stakeholders with conflicting requirements

  • Strong presentation and communication skills
