With a large workforce and important role to play with the community, our client is recognised for providing critical community and educational services across the Western Suburbs of NSW. 

Our client is currently in a process of transformation, streamlining activity to ensure more effective operations. Critical to this is the appointment of the Workforce Planning Manager.

Description 

The Workforce Planning Manager is accountable for leading workforce data management and people insights, staffing and remuneration cycles and organisational structure and realignment processes.

  • Collaborating with Workforce Strategy leadership and other stakeholders, using internal and external data to identify current and emerging workforce challenges and developing and implementing agile strategies and solutions to resolve issues and mitigate risks as well as coordinating inter-directorate, point-of-need critical response with urgent needs.
  • Guiding the staffing life-cycle, focusing on efficient processes and continuous improvement alongside high levels of stakeholder care and enablement.
  • Managing organisational structures and position management processes, aligning requests for change with approved establishments and ensuring the provision of data to enable leaders to make informed workforce decisions.
  • Leading and supporting the development of a suite of foundational metrics to measure organisational success in the delivery of our workforce strategy as well as future insights and trend analysis to inform future planning.
  • Supporting realignment processes, facilitating consultative and collaborative design, change impact analysis and execution across transformations with a variety of size and complexity.
  • Leading remuneration and reward cycles and mandatory reporting including workplace equality.
  • Supporting the Talent team to grow their knowledge of the broader workforce and talent processes, bringing consistency of practice to increase efficiency and improve service levels.
  • Developing standard operating procedures and key performance indicators to measure and celebrate success.
  • Contribute to the strategic direction of the system and work with Directors and Heads on strategic planning for the relevant service area.
  • Monitor and manage key accountabilities, standards and processes within relevant services areas to mitigate risk.
  • Contribute to the development of policy and procedures within relevant service areas and ensure compliance with policies and legislative requirements.
  • Monitor the progress of operational planning to meet identified strategic objectives.
  • Work with staff to ensure efficient and effective delivery of services.
  • Plan and implement continuous improvement and change initiatives within the relevant service area People Development.


Profile

To be successful in this application, you will have at least 3-5 years experience in a similar role within a large sized organisation. To progress with this application, you will have:

  • Strong leadership capability and experience in leading teams through change and transformation.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources and solid understanding of technical practices.
  • Stakeholder management experience and ability to bring staff on the journey to encourage change and support growth.
  • Negotiation, conflict management and interpersonal skills
