Key Responsibilities
- Claims management: understand policy coverage & compliance efficiently manage portfolio of insurance claims, including:
- Assessing and investigating claims; accepting or denying claims in accordance with the policy terms and conditions and internal guides;
- Opening claims and setting claims estimates in accordance with guides;
- Assessing and processing claim payments;
- Communication and resourcefulness: in a diplomatic manner, liaise with policy holders, lawyers, contractors or other stakeholders (internal and external) in the management of claims
- Reporting: assist in the preparation of monthly claims reports for the Executive, Board Audit Committee, Board, including completing and reconciling financial reports with the accounting team
- Other ad hoc duties as required: assist with other claims and miscellaneous duties assigned by management.
Position Criteria
- Previous experience in an insurance claims role
- Knowledge of property and mortgage law will be highly regarded
- Stakeholder relationship skills(internal and external)
- Ability to work both independently and in a team
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to prioritise and manage competing deadlines
- Ability to work in a high pressure, high volume work environment
- Desirable to have previous claimes experience in property or legal industry
