Client Details:

Our client is a national children’s charity focused on supporting families and communities affected by illness. They are expanding the growth of its national services and integral to this growth is the appointment of a Business Development Manager.

Job Description:

The Business Development Manager will identify and develop new opportunities for the organisation to deliver on the National Strategic Plan.

Core responsibilities as follows:
  • Map the market and cultivate positive relationships with individuals and organisations aligned with the for-purpose sector to grow referral pathways.
  • Initiate, lead negotiations, and manage all new business development initiatives.
  • Develop new strategic partnerships and business development opportunities whilst building on existing relationships, to attract sustainable revenue from corporate and philanthropic sources.
  • Ensure the effective on-boarding of new partnerships secured, including due diligence processes.
  • Monitoring and reporting on key performance indicators for business development, including revenue growth, customer acquisition, and market share.
  • Represent organisation at relevant forums, meetings, conferences and communicate organisational value and service offering with confidence and enthusiasm.
  • Establish processes to regularly deliver, pipeline, monitor and report on outcomes and agreed goals within set time-frames.
  • Encourage cross collaboration with internal stakeholders to best respond to the opportunities in the market and maximise referral pathways.
  • Regularly present to the Executive re pipeline and plan of action.
  • “Front of face, front of mind” - Travel to meet with prospective partners is required to qualify and build profile/relationships.  
 
To be successful in this application, our client needs someone who is not afraid to hit the phones and meet with partners to bring to life what this wonderful charity has to offer.
  • Ambitious, resourceful, and able to work autonomously whilst maintaining ongoing communication with the Executive on progress.
  • Preferable that you have relevant sector experience and an existing network in the for-purpose space.
  • Strong commerciality and ability to identify new opportunities. Demonstrable experience in market mapping.
  • An understanding of an adherence to working within personal and professional boundaries in a multicultural environment.
  • Commitment to the values, vision and mission of the organisation including leadership and implementation.
  • Exceptional time management and project management skills.
  • Ability to plan and achieve goals and action follow-ups within agreed time-frames.
  • Technical proficiency with MS Office suite.
