A Tax File Number (TFN) is an important piece of identification issued by the Australian Government. Applying for a TFN
You can apply for a TFN online or by post. To apply online, visit the ATO website and click on the ‘Apply for an individual tax file number’ link. The online application process should take no longer than 15 minutes to complete.
Alternatively, you can download an application form from the ATO website, fill it out and mail it to the address given on the form.
