•      Fabrication business recently acquired by a larger business

•      Procurement Specialist role reporting to the General Manger

•      Metals, building materials, construction, home builder or industrial manufacturing background required

Client Details

The business is a medium sized fabrication business in Brisbane’s South East . Creating and delivering steel products for home builders; the business has recently received investment and has promoted its incumbent to a national role. As a result the business needs a dynamic Procurement Specialist on site to lead the function.

Description

Reporting to the General Manager you will lead the Procurement function with a focus on building strong & sustainable relationships with suppliers. You will be directly responsible for the operationalisation of the procurement strategy (set with the CFO) and cover:

• Leading the Procurement function ensuring optimum stock control levels are cost effectively maintained whilst staying ahead of scheduled delivery dates negotiated with clients
• Building strong strategic relationships with suppliers & customers to influence the cost effectiveness and sustainability of procurement operations
• Managing the reporting of all procurement operations (stock focus) into the Executive Leadership Team, constantly reviewing systems and procedures to promote innovation, maximise efficiencies and deliver out standing customer service
• Building a positive continuous improvement culture through proactive leadership; setting clear goals & targets, empowering performance and facilitating a learning environment
• Managing the reporting of all estimating forecast, operations & win ratios into the Executive Leadership Team, assisting with estimating activities for selective major and complex projects

Profile

You are a proven Procurement/ Purchasing Manager or Procurement Specialist with your experience gained from within a steels, materials, construction or building products environment. You will have led a small team before and hold expertise regards dealing with sub contractors and customer pricing, purchasing and inventory. Ideally you will hold a relevant tertiary qualification.  

Job Offer

Circa $125,000 + super + bonus  (negotiable dependant on experience)
