The client has a 100 year reputation in their field of snacking products and has seen double digit growth yearly for the last 4 years. The business boasts advanced manufacturing capabilities across its 3 ANZ based plants, has invested heavily in the latest automation and has won multiple awards for its new product releases and delivery into both Australian retailers and the USA market.
Description
Reporting to the GM Marketing & Innovation you will, through your team of 6, take responsibility for the NPD side of the business running multiple simultaneous product releases from concept to commercialisation. The NPD & Innovation Manager for be responsible for managing innocation across the group driving both continuous improvement of existing products and ensuring food safety and quality are at the centre of everything your team does. Working cross functionally with leaders in sales operations and supply chain you will:
Profile
To be successful in applying for this role you will be able to demonstrate a wealth of experience in leading an NPD and innovation team within a food or beverage manufacturing environment from concept to commercialisation. Your technical skills will be complemented by a Tertiary qualification in a relevant field and you will have a depth of understanding regards Quality systems and FSANZ Food standard codes. You will be a hands on people manger but able to articulate and understand the strategic plan for the function.

The NPD & Innovation Manager for be responsible for managing innocation across the group driving both continuous improvement of existing products and ensuring food safety and quality are at the centre of everything your team does. Working cross functionally with leaders in sales operations and supply chain you will:
- Lead the Product Development team to deliver NPD projects and cost reduction projects
- Manage product development programs across multiple sites whilst through your hands on approach supporting your PD team to make product samples in the lab through to managing trials on the production line
- Work with suppliers to create solutions to the product brief managing all technical aspects of product development (including costing new products using templates prepared by Finance)
- Review Artwork review and approval
- Manage the research and development of existing products to improve quality
- Ensure that all regulatory guidelines and internal requirements regarding food safety and food legislation are integrated into product, packaging and process design
- Completing NIP, Allergen and ingredient declaration information
