•      $500 million dollar retail business with 150 + locations and 4000 employees

•      National WHS Manager role owning the function

•      Further develop and Implement the national WHS framework working closely with the HR Director & C.O.O

Client Details

The business is an instantly recognisable online and in store retailer with 150 locations and boasting revenues of over $500m. Due to an unfortunate resignation the business is searching for a new National WHS Manager.

Description

Reporting directly to the National HR Director and working closely with the CEO, Regional State Managers and broader business you will influence both the Executive Team and retail operations in the development and implementation of a comprehensive Health, safety and wellbeing strategy and framework.. The role holder will develop and maintain standards and compliance programmes nationally. Your remit will span;

Strategic Planning & Implementation;  Review, develop, implement, and monitor an effective Health, safety and wellbeing Strategic Plan; Leading the businesses performance and growth of its WHS strategy and culture.

WHS & well-being education & leadership; Model best practice WHS leadership by ensuring specialist and strategic advice, practical guidance and support is available to the Executive Team, Managers and the Retail Operation and DC. Champion health, safety and wellbeing building strong working relationships with all key stakeholders, contractors, suppliers and employees whilst overseeing the businesses WHS compliance related training programme.

WHS systems management;  Maintain knowledge of applicable regulatory requirements, including legislation, national standards, and codes of practice, and ensure that these are integrated into the safety management system. Conduct gap analysis and assisting site management to develop performance improvement plans to achieve a robust SMS whilst managing effective use of the Incident Reporting database

Risk & Incident management; Oversee the identification and mitigation of hazards and the reporting and investigation of incidents; monitoring the implementation of actions arising from investigations. Oversee of the investigation of serious incidents carrying out subsequent reviews and policy changes, recommending improvements in audit and incident investigation processes and ensuring emergency management plans are in place across all operations.

Profile

You are a proven WHS practitioner with your experience of several years being gained within a retail stores environment at a national level. You will be used to being hands on given there is only a small team underneath you. You will hold a Cert 4/ Diploma in WHS and have expertise across safe working, return to work, risk investigation and systems usage. You will thrive when building relationships with operational managers, business executives, suppliers, insurers and sub contractors and be able to truly bring a WHS vision and framework to life through your exceptional people skills and pragmatic, hands on approach to the subject.
