•      Modern Slavery Specialist 

•      12 month contract - paying $120 000 plus super FTE

•      Sydney - Global Organisation - brilliant opportunity



To ensure adherence to our multi-national client's Standards of Business Conduct, specifically the section on Human Rights (Modern Slavery), Modern Slavery Policy and associated procedures. Ensure these policies are adhered to nationally across the impacted territories and the management of supplier risk assessment, as well as ensuring mitigation strategies.

Responsibilities include:

  • Provide direct support to impacted end markets and key functions (Procurement, ESG and Legal).
  • Assist in the development, deployment and maintenance of the Modern Slavery Policy and accompanying procedures.
  • Engaging with, and communicate to all levels of the organisation on updates to regulatory developments, policies, standards, procedures, initiatives, risks, KPIs, etc.
  • Managing the operational roll-out of the modern slavery risk management process across all relevant suppliers.
  • Support Relationship Managers in negotiating and executing mitigation action plans with suppliers.
  • Monitor progress of supplier enablement, questionnaire completion and mitigation plan progress.
  • Develop new and maintain/enhance existing modern slavery process/system and executive training.
  • Conduct training on modern slavery operational processes.
  • Be a member of the Modern Slavery Team, taking on actions/workstreams as identified by and agreed to during team meetings.
  • Assist the Australian Legal Counsel in producing the yearly Modern Slavery Statement, providing requested operational data.
  • Identify process and systems efficiencies and effectiveness improvements, includes delivering business requirements documents.
  • Participate in User Acceptance Testing and post implementation reviews.
Requirements:
  • Formal qualification in Law/Finance/Business Admin or similar
  • Knowledge of Australian Modern Slavery regulations
  • Project Management or business analysis skills
  • Strong influencing and communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience implementing, managing, or having worked in an environment with a risk management program, informed by a risk & compliance framework.
  • Experience implementing and/or managing risk management processes in a digitised environment.
  • Relevant experience in risk management (operational and legal), supplier engagement (e.g. Procurement, S2S) or compliance management.
  • Managing/coordinating introduction of new process and systems initiatives/projects – specifically delivering business requirements, conducting user acceptance testing, training, and documentation
  • Certified compliance professional is a bonus
