We are seeking a values driven career motivated individual with 8+ years PQE who is interested by the breadth and intellectual challenge of the projects in Ventia’s Defence & Social Infrastructure business.
The role will involve a good level of autonomy, and you will be a legal services partner for our commercial business leaders at all levels of the organisation.

Key Responsibilities to include:
- Assisting the business pursue opportunities, and helping them convert them into client contracts
- Reviewing a variety of legal documentation
- Identifying legal-commercial risks
- Working on both large and complex transactions and projects as well as simple and high volume transactions
- Assisting the business develop strategies and solutions
- Negotiating contracts and developing downstream documentation
- Keeping the business updated on the latest legal and commercial developments
- Assisting with claims and managing disputes
- Ideally 8+ years PQE experience as a solicitor in large corporate legal practice and/or within a major business in house legal team
- Excellent knowledge of commercial law (and preferably construction law but not essential)
- Possess strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with senior stakeholders internally & externally
- Proven ability to negotiate effectively and to drive results
- Pragmatic, proactive people person who is happy to work as a team as well as autonomously
- Demonstrated ability to drive results and financial impact
- Passionate about learning and growing with an organisation
