Client Overview: Our client is a well-established construction business based in Ingleburn, known for its commitment to providing high-quality services to the domestic housing market. Role Summary: The Financial Accountant will report directly to the Director and will be responsible for the day-to-day financial accounting operations. This role will also involve mentoring and developing the finance team, with a strong emphasis on costing and inventory management. Additionally, there is an exciting opportunity to grow into a Finance Manager position within the southeast division of the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading the month-end close process for multiple entities.
  • Reviewing reconciliations of balance sheet accounts.
  • Managing intercompany transactions, including cross-charges, reconciliations, and analysis.
  • Preparing and processing fortnightly payroll.
  • Handling BAS and GST statement preparation.
  • Overseeing the accounts receivable function, including collections, credit, rebates, and reporting.
  • Supporting the accounts payable function as needed.
  • Managing costing and inventory processes to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Assisting in the preparation and reporting of consolidated financial results and statements.
  • Coordinating year-end deliverables with external auditors.
Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Qualifications: CA/CPA qualified.
  • Industry Experience: 5+ years in financial accounting, with significant experience in costing and inventory management, ideally within the construction industry.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced Excel skills (including VLOOKUP and pivot tables).
  • Professional Background: Experience in professional services, such as Audit or Business Services, is highly regarded.
  • Personal Attributes: Self-motivated, hardworking, and excellent problem-solving skills.
Job Offer:

  • Salary: $110,000 - $130,000 plus super, depending on experience.
