Business Development Manager – (VIC & SA)

Food, Dairy & Packaging Solutions
An established and highly respected supplier of food processing and packaging equipment is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to take ownership of Victoria and South Australia.
This business works across meat, dairy and a growing range of food sectors including ready meals, wine, and general food manufacturing, and is in a strong growth phase as they expand into new markets and applications.
The role is field-based, with an office available, but you will spend most of your time on the road with customers, developing relationships, identifying opportunities and driving capital equipment sales.

The Role You will be responsible for driving equipment sales across VIC & SA, managing an existing customer base while developing new business across both established and emerging food sectors.
While another sales specialist covers meat processing, this role has responsibility for:
  • Dairy
  • General food
  • Ready meals
  • Wine & beverage
  • New and developing packaging applications
You will work closely with internal engineering, service and support teams to design and deliver complete, value driven equipment and packaging solutions.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Developing new customer relationships across food and beverage manufacturing
  • Managing and growing existing accounts through regular engagement
  • Conducting site visits, needs analysis and solution presentations
  • Selling capital equipment solutions that improve efficiency, quality and profitability
  • Working towards monthly activity, sales and revenue targets
  • Building and maintaining a healthy sales pipeline in CRM
  • Attending industry events and trade shows
  • Providing market and customer insights to leadership
What We’re Looking For
This role suits a technical, solutions-focused salesperson who is comfortable selling high value equipment into manufacturing environments.
You will bring:
  • 4+ years’ experience  selling capital equipment or packaging solutions(food, packaging, automation, industrial or similar)
  • A strong track record of meeting and exceeding targets
  • Experience selling into food, dairy, beverage, meat or FMCG manufacturing
  • Confidence engaging with production managers, engineers and business owners
  • A self-starting, proactive approach and strong territory management skills
You’ll also have:
  • A clean driver’s licence and enjoy being on the road
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
  • CRM experience (Salesforce or similar)
  • A professional, polished and customer focused style
