Assistant Accountant | Large Manufacturer | Hybrid Work | Immediate Start
Sector: Manufacturing
Location: Ermington / Western Sydney (Hybrid – 2 Days WFH)
Employment Type: 6-Month Contract with Potential to Go Permanent
Salary: $80k + Super
The Company Our client is a well-established Australian manufacturer with operations across Australia and New Zealand. Known for high-quality products and a strong continuous improvement culture, they support several household brands across the construction and consumer goods sectors. Due to ongoing growth, they are seeking an Assistant Accountant to join their friendly and collaborative finance team.
The Role Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will support core accounting activities and play a key role in the month-end process. Responsibilities include:

The Role Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will support core accounting activities and play a key role in the month-end process. Responsibilities include:
- Assisting with month-end journals, accruals, and reconciliations
- Supporting AP and AR functions and ensuring accurate transaction processing
- Maintaining the general ledger and completing balance sheet reconciliations
- Assisting with BAS, GST, and FBT preparation
- Supporting budgeting, forecasting, and reporting
- Liaising with internal stakeholders to resolve finance queries
- Contributing to process improvements and ad hoc finance projects
- 2–4 years’ experience in an Assistant Accountant or similar role
- Experience in manufacturing or a product-based environment is highly regarded
- Currently studying CA/CPA or planning to commence
- Strong Excel skills and exposure to ERP systems (Microsoft D365)
- High attention to detail, proactive attitude, and strong problem-solving ability
- Clear communicator who enjoys working as part of a team
- Immediate start with a 6 month contract and strong potential to convert to permanent
