About the Role
This role is central to embedding a “safety first” culture across the organisation, with a strong focus on the latest developments in psychosocial safety legislation. You’ll be working closely with teams across all levels to ensure WHS best practices are not just understood, but embraced.
Key focus areas include:
- Consultation with stakeholders on WHS matters
- Leading and contributing to safety committees
- Collaborating with internal teams to integrate WHS practices
- Developing and delivering education and training initiatives
- Maintain and be responsible for a compliant work health and safety management system that includes; updated policies and procedures, ongoing consultation with all stakeholders, communication and coaching on safety in the workplace with all employees, safety training, continuous monitoring of the safety management system alongside the needs of the business.
- Taking the lead on safety concerns and hazards to minimise future risk of injury to employees. This includes investigating and reporting on all hazards and incidents to key stakeholders.
- Assisting employees, direct managers, contractors and visitors with safety related queries and reporting on safety metrics on a monthly, quarterly and yearly basis.
- Maintain and update WHS risk registers for all sites.
- Lead the WHS committee for all sites, as well as coach and support on-site safety leaders to be able to manage their safety committee and deliver safety initiatives.
- Review SWMS / SOPs for tasks and maintain a master register.
- Develop, implement and ensure site WHS inductions for all employees are completed ; this includes new employee, contractor and overseeing volunteer and student induction with relevant stakeholders.
- Undertake safety audits regularly for all sites. Escalate and rectify any risk concerns as soon as practicable with the appropriate business unit owner.
- Attend relevant WHS meetings; OSR, Committee meetings.
- Drive the actions of the external WHS Audit to completion in a reasonable timeframe.

- Salary: Up to $115,000 base + superannuation + NFP salary packaging
