Job description
• Report directly to the Site Manager on a large retail contract
• Third Parrty business with revenues of $120m and exciting expansion plans
• Add value across people and process, 25 warehouse staff
Client Details
The business is a third party logistics and final mile courier business which has recently undergone huge investment (with more planned). The operation for this contract is based on site in Sydneys North West at a large retail clients National Distribution Centre.
Description
Reporting to the newly installed Site Operations Manager the Warehouse (Distribution) Operations Manager will be responsible for the effective management of the daily operational activities relating to the warehouse and outbound transport operation for the client at their NDC. This includes all aspects of management of employees, vehicles and the distribution of goods from the warehouse to truck onboarding. You will cover:
-All daily reporting on volumes and warehouse pick rates/ fulfillment
-All people manageemnt, staff training and development for new starters and up skilling existing staff
-Management of the onsite leading hands across warehousing and outbound
-A major focus on safety first operations whilst being challenged to find efficiencies and value add projects
-Close customer contact in conjunction with the Site Manager and client teams on site
You will provide the link between the clients team at their NDC and the internal warehouse operations of the on site third party fulfillment operation on a high value contract for one of the worlds leading retail brands.
Profile
You have several years experience supervising a team across warehouse, transport and/ or inventory operations. You have either worked in house at a retailers National Distribution Centre or on site at a third party distribution/ courier business. Your approach will be people centric and you will hold the ability to have difficult and challenging commercial conversations. Your focus will be on developing teams and people and building cultures of engagement and safe working
