Client Details
The business has a long standing reputation in final mile home deliveries on behalf of Australia’s largest white goods, furniture, electronics and grocery retailers. The business is looking for a Distribution & Transport Manager to lead outbound operations on site at a major retailers National Distribution Centre whilst also being responsible for 2 further fulfillment sites.
Description
Reporting into the Group Operations Manager you will be responsible for effectively managing both the receiving warehouse team (20 staff in receiving) and the outbound transport team on site of 50 Drivers. Through your team of 3 Team Leaders and the Warehouse Manager you will ensure the Transport and fulfilment teams are motivated, working safely and delivering exceptional experience for customers. Ensuring your team is trained and developed to enable their success you will be responsible for collaborating with Transport Allocators and retailer key points of contact to ensure OTIF delivery, fully owning delivery and performance. You will be hands on in training and development of operators and drivers and be challenged to find value added opportunities around waste reduction, people development and process improvement whilst ensuring world class safety in operations.
Profile
You have a detailed understanding of what is required when leading teams within transport operations (drivers) and also ideally warehousing (operators). You are a hands on leader with demonstrable experience as a Transport/ Operations Manager within a 3PL, home delivery or parcels environment. Ideally you will hold relevant qualifications within logistics but above all you have a track record of leading transport teams and drivers to deliver on time in full services with a passion for operations and value added activities.
