Senior Project Manager – Payroll Remediation
12-Month Contract | Full-Time | Hybrid
 

 

About the Role

We’re seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead the end-to-end delivery of a complex Payroll Remediation Program. This critical role will oversee the identification, assessment, and correction of areas of non-compliance with legislation, industrial instruments, and internal policies.

You’ll manage all aspects of remediation, from root-cause analysis and system/process improvement to communication and payments to impacted employees, ensuring compliance and integrity in payroll operations going forward.

Reporting to the Director, Payroll Remediation Project, you will collaborate closely with a cross-functional team spanning People & Culture, Legal, IT, Finance, and external advisors to deliver a high-profile program of work.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of payroll remediation activities within agreed timelines and budgets.
  • Oversee analysis, calculation, and payment of employee remediation, ensuring compliance with legislation and enterprise agreements.
  • Identify process and system root causes of non-compliance and lead remediation initiatives.
  • Drive effective stakeholder engagement across multiple business units and senior leaders.
  • Manage project risks, dependencies, and issues with a proactive and solutions-focused approach.
  • Provide accurate and timely reporting to governance forums and senior executives.
  • Support change management, communication, and training activities to embed sustainable payroll practices.
About You

  • Proven experience leading large-scale or complex programs of work, ideally in HR, Payroll, or Compliance environments.
  • Strong project management skills, with a track record of delivering outcomes in complex stakeholder environments.
  • Excellent communication, influencing, and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
  • Experience in risk management, governance, and structured reporting.
  • Knowledge of payroll systems, employment legislation, or industrial relations frameworks will be highly regarded.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Business, HR, Finance, or a related discipline preferred.
