A leading Australian organisation, is seeking an experienced safety and employment lawyer to join their In-House legal team. As part of this role, you would be responsible for the provision of high-quality legal advice relating to a variety of employment, workplace relations, and anti-discrimination matters. As the lead legal role for the employment law compliance program, this role would also require you to work closely with other teams within the organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing legal advice, in alignment with the relevant law and organisations policies and procedures
- Advising the leadership team on changes in the employment law space, including changes in workplace legislation
- Providing safety legal services to other relevant business units
- Advising on wage-related matters, including wages compliance and the implementation of new payroll systems
- Conducting training in relation to employment law matters
- Ideally a minimum of 10 years PQE gained from a large corporate or reputable law firm
- Demonstrated background in employment law
- Superior drafting and negotiation skills
- Excellent communication and relationships building skills
- The ability to work with autonomy and collaboratively
- Proven ability to manage competing deadlines and provide a client-centric approach
