The client is a recognised international manufacturer with mutliple factories in Sydney. As part of a multi million dollar investment scheme the company is up skilling its safety function on site and needs a HSE Officer/ Safety Engineer.

Reporting to the newly Head of Safety on site the HSE Officer/ Safety Engineer will lead the roll out of the businesses new approach to safety on site. Specifically you will:

Description
Reporting to the newly Head of Safety on site the HSE Officer/ Safety Engineer will lead the roll out of the businesses new approach to safety on site. Specifically you will:
- Support the Head of Safety with the development and roll-out of the Health and Safety Management Framework
- Drive Risk Management by conducting Risk Assessment and supporting the Risk Management Process
- Engage, support and influence all team members to achieve a pro-active Safety Culture
- Ensuring all hazards and incidents are reported and corrective actions are completed within the set time frame
- Ensure all incidents are investigated and support the investigation process
- Pro-actively manage injuries and Return to Work Processes, supporting the injured worker and ensuring compliance
- Organise, design and deliver training and toolbox sessions on HSE topics, including site inductions for new employees and contractors
Profile
To be successful in applying for this role you will have the following skills and experience:
- Safety qualifications along with several years health and safety experience gained from within manufacturing
- Working knowledge of H&S State Legislation and regulations including AS4801 / ISO18001 Management Systems
- Knowledge of and experience with Return To work and claims management is highly desirable
