Production Manager

Client Details

The business is a restaurant business running 8 locations currently and has 2 planned for opening in the next few weeks. With plans to deliver certain ready meals into the multiples, cruise liners and sporting events the business has decided to implement a new position of Production & Planning Manager to be responsible for its food production facility near Blacktown. 


Description
Reporting directly to the General Manager the Production Manager will take on a brand new role to the business being responsible for area safety, yields, efficiency, output and product quality produced from the central cooking facility. You will be challenged to implement processes and systems to maximise efficiency. Specifically you will:
 

• Determine, implement and monitor production strategies and production planning controls
• In conjunction with the Head Chef, plan details of production activities in terms of output quality and quantity, cost, time and labour
• Supervise all site staff to produce manufactured products with safety and quality in mind
• In conjunction with People and Culture, recruit, onboard, train and mentor employees
• Maintain workflow by monitoring and upgrading processes, setting processing variables, observing control points and equipment, monitoring personnel and resources
• Maintain quality service by establishing and enforcing production SQF standards
• Ensure operation of equipment by managing a Preventative Maintenance program and looking for process improvement opportunities

 
Profile
You are a proven Production & Planning/ Manufacturing Manager with your experience gained from within either a (ideally fresh) food manufacturing category or a commercial cooking operation. You have covered ingredients production planning through to finished products including all scheduling and rostering of staff. You are able to evidence having set up standards and performance metrics, an exposure to continuous improvement and a familiarity with maintenance operations. You will have a good working knowledge of SQF and HACCP standards and be excited by the prospect of setting up a world class production operation.

Job Offer

Circa $140,000 + super
