Job description
• Third Party Transport & Distribution Provider
• Control Transport Operations for NSW, progression into a national role
• Report directly to the National Operations Director, focus on optimisation and added value
Client Details
The client is a dynamic logistics provider focused on added value courier services. As a result of recent expansion and investment the business is looking for its next State (Transport) Operations Manager at its Chatswood HQ and Transport Hub.
Description
Reporting directly to the National Operations Director the State (Transport) Operations Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing the day-to-day operations (including financial performance, service levels and costs) of the NSW Warehouse and Transport Operations. The position plays a crucial role in optimising processes and delivering a high quality service to customers. Specific responsibilities will be to:
- Manage and lead the operations team, kit room and warehouse staff (covering inbound and outbound deliveries, inventory and 50 drivers)
- Manage, train and supervise all drivers (ensuring adequate staffing levels) with a focus on safety (monitoring performance, setting KPIs and addressing all issues)
- Develop and implement operational plans to optimise processes, reduce costs and improve efficiencies (Conducting regular operational assessments, analysing data, and identifying opportunities to enhance operational efficiency)
- Monitor service levels daily to ensure 95% delivery rates are consistently achieved and address any non-conformities (utilising OTIF and Inventory accuracy)
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with 3PL/4PL providers and key customers and monitor service levels to ensure cost-effective and reliable delivery
- Act as a contract manager with customers ensuring opportunities to increase service provisions are taken and DIFOT is at a high percentage
Profile
You Are a proven Operations/ Transport Manager with a Tertiary qualification in a related (ieally Supply Chain field). Your experience has been gained running either a Third Party Logistics/ Transport Operation or in house managing drivers for a retailer. You are hands on but possess strategic understanding and be able to add value through network optimisation. You are able to evidence high DIFOT levels and achievements regards network optimisation throughout your career with an unwavering commitment to safety. You will hold the commercial acumen to form close working relationships with key customers.
