Description
As the Senior Software Support Analyst, you will take ownership of the School Management System (SMS) and related data environments. This is a hands-on, high-impact role responsible for ensuring data accuracy, application reliability, system integrations and high-quality support to staff across the school.
Key Responsibilities
• Oversee, maintain and enhance the School Management System, ensuring data accuracy, integrity and reliability.
• Manage system users and administer integrations with web services and third-party applications.
• Analyse data and reporting requirements, ensuring adherence to database and web standards.
• Deliver high-quality support to teaching, administrative and leadership staff.
• Implement and support data integrations using APIs, ETL tools or custom scripts.
• Monitor system upgrades and enhancements, identifying opportunities for improvement.
• Collaborate with departments to understand business needs and propose practical, scalable solutions.
• Ensure compliance with data governance, privacy and cybersecurity standards.
• Maintain documentation, support audits and contribute to disaster recovery testing.
• Provide guidance, recommendations and training on system improvements, upgrades and processes.
• Planning and scheduling system upgrades.
• Identifying opportunities for system optimisation and efficiencies.
• Assessing training needs and facilitating knowledge sharing.
• Providing recommendations for SMS enhancements and related ICT projects.
Profile
• Diploma in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent.
• 1–3+ years’ experience in technical support or application-focused roles.
• Experience with TASS, learning management systems and advanced SQL.
• Proficiency with MS SQL, Crystal Reports and general office/communication software.
• Knowledge or experience with Adobe ColdFusion.
• Strong planning, documentation and organisational abilities.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills with ability to explain technical concepts.
• Methodical, structured problem-solving approach with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently, manage priorities and meet deadlines.
• Competence in producing training materials and delivering training sessions.
• Understanding of how applications support school operations and educational contexts.
• Professional, collaborative, proactive, and committed to confidentiality.
