Description

The role is responsible for providing leadership and subject matter expertise in Data Management, Data Governance, Privacy, and Data Risk disciplines.

• Provide leadership and subject matter expertise in Data Management, Data Governance, Privacy, and Data Risk.
• Lead team responsible for implementing Data Governance Framework and Data Safety Program across divisions.
• Foster a strong data safety culture within the organisation.
• Advise senior leaders on data-related issues through various forums and one-on-one interactions.
• Engage with large audiences and deliver presentations to communicate complex data clearly.
• Lead risk management activities, identifying key risk areas and emerging issues relevant to the organisation’s risk posture.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation and procedures.
• Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory expectations, and best practices (Australia and New Zealand).
• Understand how technology organisations operate and manage architectural/technology change processes.

Profile

• 10+ years of experience in data leadership roles.
• Proven experience engaging with senior stakeholders.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Deep understanding of Data Governance processes and data architecture/lineage.
• Knowledge of records management principles and the data lifecycle.
• Desirable experience in personal or commercial insurance.
• Solid understanding of IT infrastructure and applications.
• Familiarity with basic risk management principles.
• Experience in large, complex operating and technology environments.
