FULL TIME - Contract position 

 


Client Description:

 

This is an excellent opportunity to join a reputable government department currently seeking an experienced Policy Officer. he role proactively devises evidence-based solutions to multiple policy problems, based in strong research, analytical and communication skills.


 
Key Responsibilities:
 

• Research, analyse and review complex policy matters, to identify issues, develop evidence-based options, and recommend solutions.
• Manage day-to-day tasks on allocated policy projects.
• Prepare correspondence, written reports, publications, presentations, briefs, and policy papers that are informative and aligned with agency requirements
• Represent  with stakeholders to advise on strategic policy issues and obtain feedback.
• Effectively manage procurement and oversight of relevant consultancies, as required to support project delivery.
• Contribute to the development of effective policy; coordinate the development of strategic policy, and contribute to the development of legislative and regulatory reforms.

 

 

Key challenges

 

• Managing tasks on multiple projects, to deliver outputs on time and within budget.
• Design creative solutions to achieve effective policy outcomes within the complexities of inter-agency and inter-governmental processes for policy development while ensuring thorough processes and defensible policy positions
• Navigating complex policy issues in a technical policy area.
