The role:

This position reports to the Director of Professional Learning and assists the School in delivering the Professional Learning Academy. The Academy is a strategic commitment of the school.  As a member of the Professional Learning department, the Project Manager will work with both academic and corporate staff to develop scope, delivery plans and various Project Management Artifacts to meet identified business needs and strategic objectives.


What you have to do to succeed:

  • Take responsibility for the definition, documentation, and successful delivery of complex projects with significant, high-risk dependencies, including creation of project proposals, project charter, vision statements, road maps and governance structure for the Academy.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Professional Learning to build and develop the project team to ensure maximum performance, by providing purpose, direction, motivation, and work plans.
  • Adopt and adapt appropriate project management methodologies depending on the context of the project, using common methodologies such as waterfall, agile, or a combination of both.
  • Document and actively manage detailed schedule documents that integrate with the project roadmap, as well as resource planning, project logs and registers, action tracking, controls and reporting activities associated with the Professional Learning Academy assigned projects.
  • Manage project administration, including the documentation/minutes of project meetings.
  • Create effective project reporting suitable for Steering Group, Senior Leadership team or School Council, incorporating traffic light reporting on key project indicators such as Schedule, Budget, Scope, Risk, Resources, etc.
  • Ensure effective project budgets, change control, risk management and testing processes are in place, agreed with key stakeholders internally and adhered to.
  • Create and actively manage the Project Communication plan, that effectively identifies the needs and expectations of all project stakeholders, including external vendor partners, with the primary goals of supporting effective stakeholder engagement and change management.
  • Ensure business change management activities are developed and delivered including, communication, end user training, and ongoing support processes and documentation.


Profile:
  • 5+ years’ experience in similar PM roles where you have been responsible for the delivery of complex, transformative business projects.
  • Experience with leading project management methodologies such as Waterfall and Agile.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills and facilitation skills. With a commitment to positive and professional relationships with all stakeholders.
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving, and strategic thinking skills.
  • Experience in the education sector highly desirable.
  • Experience in Prosci ADKAR or other Change Management methodology highly desirable.
  • Highly organised with proven experience successfully managing conflicting demands with an ability to prioritise and meet deadlines.
  • Professional presentation and communication skills, verbal and written.
  • Flexible attitude and ability to remain calm and think clearly under pressure.
  • Well-developed time management and organisational skills with the ability to work autonomously (based on limited instruction) as well as a team member.
  • Advanced levels of computer literacy including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power Point, as well as databases, smartphones, and other portable devices.
