The opportunity  
 
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Senior Legal Counsel to join a high-performing In-House legal team. The role will report into the Deputy General Counsel – Claims. The role will involve providing  strategic legal advice across a range of complex matters, influencing claims outcomes and mentoring junior lawyers.  
   
  
Key Responsibilities:
 

• Providing coverage/indemnity advice across the general claims division across: public liability, property and professional indemnity claims
• Assisting with strategic input into litigated and un-litigated disputes
• This role is instrumental to the claims function by providing: improved claims decision, reduced disputes, reduced claims costs and insights on emerging trends
• Supervising and mentoring more junior members of the legal team

  
Key Requirements:
 

• Ideally 6 + PQE gained in private practice or In-House
• You will be experienced in insurance law ideally in public liability and/or professional indemnity and/or property insurance
• Possess a solid litigation background and proven experience managing disputes
• Enjoy working as part of a team
• Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills
• Proven commercial mindset and awareness
