Rare Opportunity: People & Development Consultant

Job description

  • Flexible working with only two days in the office each week
  • Competitive base salary, quarterly bonuses and world-class benefits suite
  • Exceptional culture, genuine support, and long-term development opportunities

Some roles just keep the wheels turning. Others shape the experience people have every single day. This is one of those roles.

We're partnering with one of the world's leading legal organisations to find a People & Development professional to join their Brisbane team—and it's genuinely one of the most exciting opportunities we've worked on this year.

This isn't a traditional HR position. It's a highly visible, relationship-driven role where you'll become a trusted advisor, culture champion, problem solver, and a core linchpin who is highly-respected and valued within the wider organisation.

You'll help create an environment where talented professionals feel supported, connected, engaged, and set up to thrive.

Why this opportunity stands out:

  • Play a pivotal role in shaping the employee experience across the Brisbane office.
  • Build trusted relationships and become a genuine go-to person for lawyers and business leaders.
  • Drive engagement, connection, and a strong sense of belonging within a collaborative national team.
  • Join an organisation renowned for its people-first culture, impressive retention, and investment in professional growth.

What you'll be doing:

Supporting the employee journey - Managing the employee lifecycle from onboarding through to development conversations, performance support, wellbeing initiatives, and day-to-day people matters.

Creating exceptional employee experiences - Checking in with people, solving problems, celebrating successes, and ensuring individuals feel valued, supported, and connected.

Driving culture and engagement - Coordinating initiatives that bring people together—from coffee catch-ups and team lunches to recognition programs and thoughtful moments that strengthen community.

Owning onboarding and integration - Delivering welcoming, seamless induction experiences that set new starters up for long-term success.

Leading and delivering projects - Taking ownership of key initiatives, ensuring clear communication, stakeholder engagement, and successful delivery.

Supporting talent acquisition activities - Assisting with recruitment processes, background checks, and attracting exceptional talent into the business.

Maintaining systems and reporting - Keeping people data accurate, contributing to reporting, and identifying opportunities to continuously improve processes and systems.

Championing an award-winning employer brand - Helping build on a culture that attracts, develops, and retains some of the industry's best talent.

Bringing memorable events to life - Supporting the delivery of celebrations, social events, client functions, and experiences that strengthen connection across the business.

Who this role could be perfect for:

We will be open-minded about background, provided you know the legal industry and genuinely enjoy working with people.

You might come from HR, recruitment, business support, learning and development, or another people-focused function. Equally, experienced legal assistants, paralegals, or even lawyers looking for a more relationship-driven career path are encouraged to apply.

You'll likely bring:

  • A natural ability to build trust and strong relationships.
  • A proactive, organised approach and the confidence to manage competing priorities.
  • A positive mindset and a genuine desire to improve the experience of those around you.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with lawyers, clients, and internal stakeholders.

If you're looking for a role where you can make a meaningful impact, work alongside truly wonderful people, and become an integral part of a respected and high-performing organisation, we'd love to hear from you.

Please APPLY NOW for a confidential conversation, or alternatively, send your CV directly to chloebowditch@future-you.com.au and I will be in touch.
