About the Role
We are seeking an experienced  Legal Counsel to join a major organisation operating in the energy transition sector. This legal role assists with all legal aspects of a specialist infrastructure business, with a strong focus on large-scale infrastructure and renewable energy projects.

The role is based in Sydney with a hybrid working arrangement and reports to the organisation’s General Counsel. 

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assisting with the negotiation, drafting, and execution of connection agreements and related contracts supporting the energy transition
  • Providing strategic legal advice on contract structuring and risk management for complex infrastructure and renewable energy projects
  • Advising on contract administration throughout project delivery, including variations, disputes, and potential litigation
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant regulatory frameworks
  • Delivering commercial legal advice across energy law, competition law, planning and environmental law, and employment law
Key Requirements:
  • Ideally 6+ years PQE gained In-House or from a leading private practice firm 
  • Previous experience in major projects, construction law, and the energy sector
  • Demonstrated expertise in large-scale infrastructure projects
  • Strong commercial drafting, review, and negotiation skills
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and organisational skills
  • Ability to work both collaboratively and independently in a fast-paced environment
