Description


As Director, Assurance, you will provide independent, senior-level leadership across regulatory, enforcement, and remediation initiatives. You will play a critical role in ensuring the organisation is audit-ready, regulator-confident, and operationally sustainable.

  • Leading Line 2 assurance across regulatory obligations, enforcement actions, and remediation programs
  • Uplifting Line 1 risk and control capability, embedding clear ownership and accountability
  • Designing and governing assurance frameworks, including stage-gates and readiness criteria
  • Providing independent challenge on control design, effectiveness, and evidence sufficiency
  • Managing relationships with regulators, external auditors, independent experts, and legal stakeholders
  • Overseeing responses to regulatory notices and investigations
  • Delivering executive-level reporting on assurance outcomes, risk posture, and regulatory exposure
  • Building and leading a high-performing assurance function in a complex, evolving environment


Profile


You are a senior assurance, risk, or compliance leader with deep experience in highly regulated industries such as telecommunications (preferred), banking, or financial services.

  • Extensive experience in Line 2 risk, assurance, audit, or compliance leadership roles
  • Strong regulatory background, including exposure to investigations, enforcement actions, or enforceable undertakings
  • Deep understanding of Three Lines of Defence (3LoD), control design, testing, and assurance methodologies
  • Proven ability to engage and influence at executive and board level
  • Strong audit and assurance capability, ideally with external audit or regulator-facing experience
  • Ability to operate effectively in high-pressure, high-scrutiny environments
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to deliver clear, concise executive reporting
