Financial Accountant

• $50 - $60 per hour (including Super)
• Temp to perm opportunity

A leader in the manufacturing industry, this firm is well known for its quality products and services. With business acquisitions in the pipeline, they are looking for an experienced Financial Accountant to help them expand.

Initially engaged on a 6-month contract, there is a strong chance of this opportunity becoming a permanent role. Also, there is scope for the right candidate to move into a Financial Controller role in the future. Reporting to the Head of Finance you will be responsible for the day-to-day accounting activities of the firm, including:

• Ownership for month-end close
• General Ledger reconciliations and maintenance
• Responsible for fortnightly payroll
• BAS, FBT, GST and tax compliance
• Prepare for year-end audit
• Identify improvements to the financial controls framework
• Drive efficiencies through optimising existing systems
• Mentor junior staff

About you:

A team player, with a friendly attitude you will be comfortable on the phone and proactive in your approach. Ideally you will be a 2nd mover with 5-7 years of experience from professional services and a SME environment. Additionally, you will be:

• CA/CPA qualified
• Intermediate Excel (pivot, lookups)
• Comfortable using different systems
• Have a valid driver’s licence and car
