Risk - Manager (Governance Risk & Strategy)

An amazing opportunity has arisen to join a large complex organisation in the heart of Parramatta. In this role as Manger - Risk , you will be working in the wider Strategy & Governance team to implement risk management methodology across the business and coordinate risk management responses required to identify, evaluate, mitigate, and monitor strategic and operational risks.

Accountabilities 

  • Developing and implementing the risk management frameworks
  • Evaluating potential risks and opportunities so the organisation can effectively manage risks and maximise its opportunities
  • Assist in performing risk assessments, conducting incident investigations, and measure effectiveness as well as managing internal and external stakeholder relationships to maintain productive networks Using data analysis to contribute to the development of risk detection models, controls, indicators of risk and action plans
  • Working in collaboration with the team to ensure risk management is integrated to the internal audit functions to provide assurance and there is alignment with strategy and corporate governance
  • Overseeing operational risk management activities
  • Monitor progress of operational planning to meet identified strategic objectives
  • Work with staff to ensure efficient and effective day-to-day delivery of key services
  • Plan and implement continuous improvement and change initiatives within the relevant service team
  • Monitor and manage key accountabilities, standards and processes within the relevant service team to mitigate risk
  • Contribute to the development of procedures and best practice guidelines within the relevant service team and ensure compliance with policies and legislative requirements

Profile
  • Tertiary qualification in Risk or relevant area of study
  • Minimum 5 years experience in a similar role 
  • Stakeholder management experience
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated negotiation, conflict management and interpersonal skills
  • Strategic thinking and problem solving skills
  • Excellent written and communication skills
