Our client is a leading Manufacturer with an outstanding track record of success in Australia. Continued growth has led to the creation of a new Logistics Manager role to be responsible for logistics strategy and execution.

Job Description
Your role as Logistics Manager will include the following responsibilities:

  • Determine and lead the strategy for logistics in Australia
  • Thoroughly understand and interpret data relating to operational productivity and performance and implement proactive solutions to achieve area performance targets
  • Prepare resource requirement forecasts to support operational budget process
  • Ensure all activities are planned within budget parameters and these are reviewed and adjusted depending on department performance and volume changes
  • Attend daily operational review meetings, updating operational leadership team with accurate, relevant information to enable the network to meet its objectives
  • Create high levels of employee engagement by managing day-to-day communications and promoting performance through engagement strategies within the area of responsibility
  • Demonstrate a strong awareness of and commitment to ethics, compliance and the Group Business Conduct Guidelines for all operations, ensuring compliance with all legal and company requirements including but not limited to Health & Safety, security, environmental
  • Delivers operational results by analyzing and solving problems in a structured way
  • Pro-actively identifies potential issues, problems & opportunities
  • Takes personal ownership for leading change and identifies & overcomes barriers to it
  • Adopts a positive and constructive attitude when handling change, ambiguity and potential obstacles

The Successful Applicant
To be successful with your application for the Logistics Manager you will have the previous following experience

  • Previous experience in a Logistics role, in an FMCG business.
  • Experience implementing Continuous Improvement strategies to support a Lean methodology approach with proven capability of process improvement
  • Sound understanding of Health, Safety and Environmental legislation & regulations
  • Excellent communication skills at all levels
  • Sound understanding and knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Power-point & Visio
  • Proven ability to adapt and change rapidly
  • Highly customer focused
  • Sound financial understanding / experience, strict cost control discipline
