Description 

The Assistant Credit Manager is responsible for the receipt, review and processing of Residential/Commercial loan applications.  The Assistant Credit Manager will support the Credit Management team with the credit assessment and approval process to ensure that loan applications meet quality standards. The core responsibilities are as follows:

  • Support the Credit Manager, on receipt of loan applications as required and determine how loans can be structured/processed in order to meet credit policy and risk appetite.
  • Support Credit Managers to assess completed loan applications, including review of security and servicing, to ensure that all lending meets credit criteria and risk appetite
  • Follow-up any missing documents and outstanding loan application items
  • Work up and submit loan applications in conjunction with Credit Managers
  • Enter applications into Salesforce & complete Equifax searches
  • Complete credit files
  • Assist in following up outstanding Conditions Precedent prior to loan settlement
  • Obtain valuation quotes and order/follow up valuations
  • Liaise with valuers, solicitors and financial advisors as required
  • Prepare Letters of Offer/variations as required
  • Attend to phone calls and email queries
  • Maintain high data quality standards ensuring all loan details are updated (spreadsheets and CRM) and maintained in a timely manner.
  • Ensure all lending adheres to the risk appetite and credit criteria
  • Escalate any identified risks to the Credit Manager or Head of Credit.

Profile

To be successful in this application, you will have the following:

  • Financial services knowledge and experience, ideally in both residential & commercial space
  • Previous credit experience
  • Mortgage loan management and servicing software experience
  • Good communication skills
  • Understanding of Financial Services legislation
  • Major financial institution background
  • Tertiary qualifications in one or more of economics, business, accounting and/or finance is preferred.
  • Well-developed relationship skills. This will be demonstrated by an ability to provide a high level of service to internal stakeholders
  • Sound analytical skills and high degree of numeracy
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills
  • Proven ability to prioritise workloads  and multi-task
  • Operate with a high standard of ethics and integrity at all times
