As Category Manager, you will be responsible for drafting and executing a sourcing strategy and Category Management plan to optimise procurement wins for its Indirects Categories of spend. This diverse portfolio would include a wide variety of areas including Logistics, MRO, Capex, Utilities Labour Hire and Services for example. This is a commercially facing role, responsible for a significant portion of addressable company spend and such, the position will work collaboratively with key decision makers as well as strategic partners across Australia and the Asia-Pacific region. The procurement fundamentals of price, risk, quality, ethics and environmental sustainability remain a priority; however you will be expected to execute key initiatives that are nimble whilst supporting longer term, best practice ideas. In short, you will drive optimal outcomes to ensure price, quality, risk, and ethics are best in class.
You will be an experienced procurement category manager having managed a wide range of indirect categories of spend. You are collaborative, engaging and comfortable driving new initiatives to secure commitment to a transformative procurement approach that is adept at spotting an opportunity and delivering the measurable outcome. You will have a natural curiosity to challenge the status quo and reshape processes, so as to ensure best practice and optimal procurement outcomes are secured. In short, you can build relationships, generate a positivity and momentum that gains traction by your ability to deliver price wins and commercially sensible, conscionable, best practice solutions and excellent vendor relationships.
