• Key player in a dynamic, expanding market
• Western Sydney based Food Manufacturer
This organisation is an iconic key player in a competitive international and domestic market. With an enviable brand portfolio of supermarket food & beverage products, this business is a significant employer with a national profile and exceptional reputation for quality and product excellence. Leveraging on its exceptional recognition in Australia for top rated products, the business has invested in a global network and is continuing to expand significantly into Asia-Pacific and beyond. With a major investment plan in its infrastructure, facilities and IT, this business is poised for continued success and expansion of both product range and geographies served.
Reporting to the Head of Procurement, this role, as Senior Category Manager will be responsible for drafting and executing a global sourcing strategy to optimise procurement wins for its Commodities and Ingredients portfolio. This is a key strategic role, responsible for 50% of company spend and such, the position will work collaboratively with the Senior Leadership Team as well as strategic partners across the Asia-Pacific region. The procurement fundamentals of price, risk, quality, ethics and environmental sustainability remain a priority; however you will be expected to execute key initiatives that are nimble and longer term - balancing commodity pricing and hedging in core items including dairy, chocolate, wheat, flour, corn, oils and sugar. In short, you will manage a regionally focused, locally executed, product sourcing strategy to deliver best price and continuous supply in the raw ingredients sector.
You will be a highly experienced procurement expert who has managed sizeable categories of spend across the Food Manufacturing or similar. You are collaborative, engaging and comfortable driving new initiatives to secure commitment to a transformative procurement approach that is adept at spotting an opportunity and delivering the measurable outcome. You will have a natural curiosity to challenge the status quo and reshape processes, so as to ensure best practice and optimal procurement outcomes are secured. In short, you can build relationships, generate a positivity and momentum that gains traction by your ability to deliver price wins and commercially sensible, conscionable, best practice whilst ensuring risk mitigation and continuous supply in key food commodities.
Exciting opportunity to work with an inspiring CPO at a forward thinking, expanding international player.
Salary will be commensurate with the scope of the role and your level of experience.
