Our client is currently seeking a Security Associate for its Security Operations Centre (SOC).

This role is an entry/junior level security position, open to all candidates looking to start their career in the field of Information Security, or move from an existing junior level IT position into the security field. As a Security Associate within the SOC, you will take on an exciting role playing an integral part in the delivery of managed services to existing and future clients. You will be exposed to the latest tools and security technologies available and will be encouraged to learn and continuously improve your skill set whilst receiving mentoring and support from an elite team of security analysts, technologists and security industry leaders. The Role
The primary responsibility of the Security Associate is to:
  • Identify, categorise, prioritise and investigate potential security incidents;
  • Analyse, review and report on cyber threat intelligence;
  • Monitor security systems and detect/analyse potential intrusions;
  • Develop documentation relative to security operations;
  • Respond to client requests, emails and phone calls;
  • Update, Maintain and Support critical security systems;
  • Perform vulnerability scans and risk assessments;
  • Recommend security improvements that lift cyber capability;
  • Detect security incidents and respond in a timely fashion;
  • Report on organisational security posture and weaknesses;
  • Provide afterhours support and participation in an on-call rotating shift roster.
The Person
Skills/ Experience required for the position include:
  • Basic/Intermediate IT knowledge;
  • Understanding of Information Security;
  • Basic understanding of Risk Management and Control frameworks; and
  • Strong desire to learn and a willingness to get involved;

Education / Training Requirements:
  • 1-2-year Help Desk/IT Support or equivalent experience
  • Any Security certifications are advantageous
  • Any Networking Certifications: CCNA, CCNP or equivalent
