Role Description 
As part of a forward thinking and conscientious approach to procurement, this highly innovative and exciting role has been newly created to underpin the organisational capability to ensure optimisation across the entire value chain. This role will be pivotal at assessing the full end-to-end logistics and distribution network and the supporting framework. This organisation has an extensive delivery footprint across the whole of Australia include remote locations, which leverages key third-party relationships to ensure timely distribution of products which include short life goods in a temperature controlled environment - often required at short notice by your internal customers.  You will have a blank canvas to create your own framework and approach. You will be at the forefront of discussions with current and potential vendors to ensure that the review of storage and distribution partners and the manner of their execution under contract, is commercially appealing from a risk, reliability, environmental and pricing perspective.  

Your Profile

You will be a Procurement Category Manager candidate with a proven track-record of success leading full category reviews and supplier evaluations across a broad vendor base that includes specialisation in warehousing and storage, transport, distribution and logistics. You will be a adept at spotting opportunities to find efficiency savings as part of cost reduction strategies in the transport networks across the full value chain.  In short, you will be a commercially focused Procurement Category Manager with a depth of category experience working with logistics and freight, who manages to successfully combine optimisation and pricing wins with environmental sustainability.  

* Please note that this is not a Warehouse, Operations, Supply Chain or Logistics Manager role - it is a Procurement position responsible for Category Management of Suppliers in the Freight, Distribution & Logistics space.
